I started cleaning carpets and upholstery in 1985 under the name of Richboro Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning. My business philosophy was simple, to "be the best". My father gave me advice I've never forgotten. He said, "A bad reputation will get around faster than a good one". As corny as that sounds, my employees have been taught that same philosophy - to "be the best"! Anyone can learn the carpet cleaning business, but many carpet cleaners teach their employees how to make quick money for the company instead of how to give the customer a quality job.
After a couple of successful years, I opened Doylestown Carpet & Upholstery Cleaning. Business was great. I was servicing homes and businesses from Yardley/Newtown to Doylestown. Even though my business was getting bigger, I was able to keep the same high quality of work because of the essential training given to every employee.
In the 1990's I changed the name of my businesses to Marty's Carpet Cleaning. I had a lot of customers calling Yardley Carpet Cleaning and Newtown Carpet Cleaning and asking for Marty. Fortunately, I had a good relationship with the owners of those businesses and they let me know this was happening. In fact, I once had a customer show me a stack of advertising flyers she had made copies of and was handing out to friends. They were Newtown Carpet Cleaning advertisements. I didn't have the heart to tell her it wasn't my company. That was the day I decided to change the company name to "Marty's Carpet Cleaning".
After more than 30 years in the carpet and upholstery cleaning business my philosophy remains the same - to "be the best". We take our time on every job to ensure that every customer is happy with the job for which they paid.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
